Sticking with the whole spam thing.
Today we’ll look at email spam.
Have you heard the phrase, “the money is in the list?”
It’s 100% correct. Email list building is probably the #1 leverage point in your business.
We’re not talking about building a list here. We’re talking about moronic email spam.
You’ve seen it.
The desperate attempts to get you to open an email. It goes something like this:
You’ve been tagged on facebook
You’re instagram friend sent you a message
You’re account has been hacked
First of all, I’m not sure why anyone would send this stuff out. It’s a poor business building effort and even if you click on the email, you’re going to find out it is something completely different than advertised.
To tell you the absolute truth, I would delete and mark as spam even if I was interested in the content if I was misled into clicking.
The lesson here is simple. Don’t be an idiot. You don’t have to write misleading and annoying email subject lines to get your email opened.
Build a targeted list of subscribers and then give them what they want.
My business has been far better since I started list building and email marketing than when I was just doing one off advertising.
